A Mediterranean Boat Ride, Barcelona

We had reached Barcelona after three nights in Madrid. Hence it was quite natural for us to be comparing the two cities after landing here. But we quickly realized that a comparison would not be the right thing to do. Because both cities are different but awesome in their own way. But today was a new day with new expectations after a wonderful first day in Barcelona. In our agenda was visiting important landmarks and of course a must do activity while you are here in the city. A Mediterranean Boat Ride.

We reached Columbus monument well before time from where the boats sail for the two hour sea trip. I had made my bookings with Las Golondrinas, one of the premium boat tour operators so that we did not miss out on having the best experience. However just to be sure that the boat would depart at the scheduled time, I approached their ticket counter to check out. But I was in for a shocker.

The lady at the counter saw my voucher and told me that my voucher was for a month earlier for the same date. I had due to oversight committed a mistake while booking. Then the moment she noticed that my bookings were through Viator, she told me. “Don’t worry Sir. We will let you still enjoy the trip as you have not used the ticket. I just checked”. Finally we were relieved and thanked her. And specifically Viator for our many pleasant experiences having booked our activities through them over the years. Moreover the other trusted partner of ours has been, GetYourGuide. Because they too have a great inventory of tour activities that you must check out.

Some free time before the ride

We still had half an hour before the boat would take off. Hence there was the opportunity to once again spend some time at La Rambla, the most happening street of Barcelona. This was the same street from where we had started exploring the city the previous day.

A Mediterranean Boat Ride

A Mediterranean Boat Ride – Enjoying Barcelona Skyline

Life in the ocean is thrilling. Not only for tourists like us but even for the residents of the city. Therefore it’s quite a common sight seeing a family or a group of friends having a sandwich break during lunch time by the sea and on the numerous beaches in the city. Blue sky, salty air and the majesty of the Mediterranean. Come let’s continue our fun time.

Barcelona is one of the best bases in the world for sailing holidays. However if you cannot afford the time, the next best thing to do is get lost in the sea for a short while. With a Mediterranean Boat Ride.

  1. The mediterranean boat ride looks so beautiful. The water and the sky line is stunning. I have never been to Barcelona, but when I go there I will make sure to take the boat ride. I think boat rides are the best way to see a city and its buildings from a distance and get good views. Thanks for this post, I will make a note of it.

  2. One of my favorite cities, Barcelona! I can just imagine the peace this Mediterranean shore brings to those who spend their lunch break here by the sea off from work. The waves, the wind, and the sky must be therapeutic to one’s soul!

  3. We do love to see a new spot from the water. And we have always had fun going out on a boat. And such a great idea to do the boat ride in Barcelona. You got to see so many of the sights from the water. Always a great idea to get lost in the sea!

  4. We also did the harbor cruise in Barcelona and quite enjoyed it. I do not book these things anymore because I do not like to have a fixed schedule and especially with boat rides you want sunny weather. However we waited until the last day of our visit and it was quite windy and chilly. But it was interesting and fun anyway.

I visited Madrid before but didn’t have time for Barcelona. The mediterranean boat ride seems like a great way to explore Barcelona. It’s great that you could see many beautiful spots from the boat. I also used GetYourGuide service before and pleased with it too.

  6. I haven’t been to Barcelona since I was a little child, I barely remember it. I know people talk about the amazing beaches there. Hopefully, I will get to see them one day and take a boat trip

What a beautiful boat ride! I could imagine sitting there next to you enjoying the views of the landmarks, watching people enjoying their sandwiches by the beach, passing by boats – big and small, and more. Love how blue the water and the sky are. And definitely, aren’t you glad that they still took your booking even though it’s a month late.
