Oslo, the city of love

As you land in this beautiful capital city of Norway, you sense a feeling of love & care in the air. Oslo, the city of love we thought. And this is why.

Coming out of Oslo Central Station & heading towards our hotel Scandic Karl Johan, we asked a middle aged lady for directions. She seemed to be in a hurry yet stopped, used her own Google map in addition to ours & was happy to guide us. Moving a bit further we approached another young gentleman, in order to reconfirm, and there he was glad to help and even walked with us to our hotel location, before moving on to his own destination.

For us, me & my spouse, it was love at first sight.

That was Frogner Park for you, symbolizing the importance of love with beautiful sculptures all around. Before we move around more, I must emphasize that while traveling to Oslo why you must stay in the most happening location, Karl Johans Gate. You can catch up with my post sometime earlier ‘Two Champions on the Streets’.

Now let me take you on a walking tour from Karl Johans Gate to some very close and wonderful must see places starting with some green and the famous National Theater.

And there next to National Theater on the park arena we were in for a surprise. This Army Band playing some wonderful Norway Military Music, Beatles & James Bond title song. Want to hear? Let’s hear the Beatles one. I am sure you’ll love it.

Let’s now check out some heritage buildings which are now hotels, the parliament and law university as we pass them while we move to the port area lined up with eating joints & watering holes.

After a few bites, some drinks & some relaxing moments, as we head back to where we started from, there was some more entertainment lined up for us & a wonderful evening in the waiting..

Watch this awesome celebration on the streets, on Karl Johan’s Gate as we move ahead.

Time to head off for some dinner. See you soon with lots more from Oslo. And so much more when you are planning a 7 day Norway itinerary.

If you loved the first feel of Oslo, PIN it for planning & forward to friends!

I love those sculptures you find all over the city! The flowers are so lovely too and the city looks so clean and full of lush green scenery. Oslo has now been officially added to my wanderlust list.
