Goa Villa stay with ‘Silver Salt’

My Goa holiday was nearing it’s end. But before I left, there was an important task still to be completed. And that was catching up with a friend whom I had never met before. So there I was heading towards his pad in Saligao from Bogmalo beach where I was putting up and enjoying my Travel fun at SWINg! By The Bay, Goa. To spend an afternoon with him in his Villa. And with me was my first friend after landing up in Goa this time. Shirodkar, almost my age and the sweet guy who has been driving me around in his taxi.

The other day a friend asked me after seeing me holidaying in Goa. What about Goa villas? It must be costly staying in a villa? I told him ‘Yes and No’. Doesn’t make sense if you are just a couple. But if you are a family with school going kids or those who would also love to take their parents along, it’s a great idea. And also what better when friends are visiting together to chill out. They could work out much cheaper than staying in an upscale hotel or resort. With all the freedom of the world, villas are the craziest option then.

We were at Saligao circle and needed to check out the exact location. So called up and in a couple of minutes there was this young chap with a smile guiding me to the villa. Sorry it’s not a villa, it’s a series of six villas one after the other. But with complete privacy.

It’s always exciting to meet someone whom you have spoken to but never met before, and probably someone you would have only seen in pics on social media sometime. But for me this guy was an absolutely brand new friend. Heard about him only yesterday and spoke to him the first time last night.

Pankaj. Jat Pankaj is how he calls himself. The first look and he looked the dashing young man who knows his business. Extremely soft spoken, with his insisting on ‘Sir’ despite my repeated attempts to make him refrain from doing so. And what was our connection? Tell you later. Come let’s meet him first.

Pankaj who hails from Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan, where he was born and brought up, incidentally has his hometown where we studied from and still carry the legacy of this great institution BITS, Pilani. He was the HR head in an university in our district where the Vice Chancellor was a man three years my senior in BITS, who went on to become the DEAN-Student Welfare Division and for thousand of BITSians and students across this country and this globe, a friend who will go out of the way to make a difference in your life. Dr. B.R.Natarajan. For me Nattu, a special human being. I am sorry I forgot I was in the villa. Come let me take you to the first place I rush to when I am in a star hotel, a good resort or as now in a villa, it’s the swimming pool.

After our selfie it was time to open up over a few bottles of wonderful Goa beer with Pankaj. After human resources it was launching a hospitality organization and then the brainwave of launching his own brand ‘Silver Salt’, the best of Goa Villas. And soon he was in the thick of all the action. Think of celebrities lining up for Goa. They head to ‘Silver Salt’. Cricketers, film stars, movie directors you name it, and they are there. Come let’s check around here before we check out your options of individual villas.

I don’t click pictures of wash rooms but have no doubts they were all very spacious and one with the option of open air shower looked exciting.

These 3 and 4 bedroom villas are spread over three levels with lot of sitting out space near the pool and at each level, the bedroom have the privacy when desired while the fun lies in the togetherness with family and friends most of the time. The kitchen has all that is required in a fully equipped one, if you desire to try out any recipe. There is an in-house menu that you can order from or the support staff can get all that you wish to order from nearby restaurants. You also have the freedom of ordering yourself or fetching it from outside. After a hearty meal, me and Pankaj set out to explore some of his other villas spread over Goa.

  1. I absolutely loved the Silver Salt’ Villas. The aesthetically down interior, open spaces, sitting areas and the design , everything about these villas are fantastic. The white and blue theme is something I adore always. I must try these villas for family holidays.

  2. The villas look amazing for a stay. You are absolutely right in calling out that villas do not make sense when visiting as a couple. Would definitely love to stay here with the family though. The swimming pools in the villas look amazing.

  3. My in-laws were talking about a huge family vacation, and I pointed them to Goa and your blog to learn more about this incredible place, because you’ve captured my attention and need to visit. With having a larger group going, a villa seems like the best option because there would be the space to accommodate everyone, as well as the privacy to really just relax and enjoy some family time as well, and that is my favorite thing that a villa offers.

    1. Yes Erica it’s the best with family or friends together. Whenever they do come after this virus threat is over, please do let me know. I’ll be able to guide and help them get good deals.
