London is a travelers delight when it comes to landmarks with interesting stories and history attached to each one of them. And with an efficient tube and bus network it’s so easy hopping around to spend time at these destinations. We also loved using public transport to experience some extremely beautiful small towns and villages near Gants Hill. That’s where we had put up for our rather longish stay in London with our brother, twice in two years. Two lovely places that we are traveling to today are London Suburbs Theydon Bois & Debden.

Theydon Bois

Theydon Bois is a cute village in the Epping Forest district of Sussex. Lying right on the edge of the forest the village park there is a great place for the youngsters. But for grown-ups like us too it was such a wonderful feeling walking around the village carefree. The green, the peace, the lovely homes, the nice restaurants and hardly any traffic was such a great escape that afternoon. Let’s take the walk.

Quick Lunch at ‘The Bull’

Located right at the center of Theydon Bois village and just minutes away from the tube station, “The Bull” is a heritage property. Dating back to the 17th century it was originally a private residence called “The Tile House”. It was later extended and became ” The Bull’s Head Inn”. Now it’s a great place for family get-togethers, anniversary celebrations, a business lunch with colleagues or just to chill out with friends over some beer and light lunch.

Debden Village

We took the bus from Gants Hill another afternoon after breakfast and time spent visiting Valentines Park, changed one bus in between and reached Debden Village. The experience was fascinating as all we had around us were a few homes, miles of green and a solitary pub. Come enjoy the stroll with us.

Keep it up Bacha..when are you back from London. Missing you here
Already back. See you soon.
We were also there in UK. Came back on 15th June. Enjoyed a few places around London and Liverpool.
Yes Dipanjan I saw few pics. London is where you can keep going back without feeling you have been there. London and UK as a whole.
Thank you! Nicely done! It captures the beauty of suburbia in the U.K. Suburbia or exurbia but not quite like in the US where there isn’t a sense of community except in only a few towns.
Yes Sutapa really beautiful places and the pleasure is in taking the walks.
