  1. We visited Singapore with our older son so really did not explore the places best in Singapore for younger families. Sadly we did not get to Sentosa Island at all so missed all the fun that is there for everyone to enjoy. But we sure did not miss the light and music show at the Gardens by the Bay. Even big kids enjoyed this! A view from the top of the Flyer was on our list but we ran out of time. Your posts showed me we really need to return.

    1. Yes fortunately I happened to stay there for a week with my sister-in-law and thoroughly enjoyed the time. There is a lot that you can do in Singapore including great food options.

  2. Singapore is our neighbor in Asia, and I would love to visit some of the iconic sites you mentioned. At the top of my list are Gardens by the Bay and Universal Studios. I’m especially excited to see the iconic Supertree Grove and witness how they come alive at dusk with the light and sound show.

I am yet to visit Singapore, even though I’ve been nearby, in Malaysia. Maybe next time. The Gardens by the Bay look like a sci-fi movie, I would definitely love to stroll around them and pretend I’m in a different world. The Singapore Flyer seems like a great place to watch the panorama of the city from. I’ve done the London Eye, so it would only make sense to go on a ride on its Singapore brother too.

So interesting! I haven’t been to Singapore, but it amazes me how much it’s like the US with the botanical gardens, museums, and other attractions. Gardens by the Bay looks so otherworldly – like something out of a movie about the future. This is such a great list of things to do with kids (and who doesn’t love a zoo?).

  5. Imagine living so close to this country, am based in India, and not having visited it! I’ve heard a lot about Universal Studios, so that’s a must visit. Then, the aquarium would be unmissable at Sentosa Island. Am not a zoo person, but the night safari is enticing.

  6. I have yet to make it to this part of the world. It seems like a place that offers so much. I could probably spend a month here and not scratch the surface. On top of my list are Gardens by The Bay, the Singapore Flyer (which reminds me of the London Eye) and Sentosa Island. I think these would be great activities to do with my family. Thanks for this detailed post and I hope I get to visit one day.

  7. Natascha

Great guide for families visiting Singapore, although adults will enjoy these activities too. I did the night safari at the Zoo a few years ago and absolutely loved it. Being at the zoo at night is like a childhood dream. It was also a bit scary with all the unfamiliar noises in the air.

  8. Umiko

When I was little, my parents always took us to the zoo, botanic gardens, and Sentosa Island. We liked those places. We loved Little India for shopping and Chinatown for eating. Today, I want to take my family to these places, and definitely the other ones in your list: Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Flyers, and ArtScience Museum.

  9. This is timely since we’re heading to Singapore in September. Most of them are already on our itinerary but will definitely add the ArtScience Museum that you suggested.

The kids are also looking forward to their visit to the Zoo and Night Safari.
