We all wait for August every year and then many months in advance the action starts. As BITSAA International, BITSAA Chapters Council and 135 chapters across the globe get the ball rolling. Planning and implementing a host of surprise events, competitions and celebrations on the day. And this day this year a very special one as we celebrate 60 years of BITS, Pilani. As many thousands register for their city BITSians’ Day scheduled during the first weekend of August, the top corporates line up to sponsor. Our preparations here in the city started early as well. As the day finally arrived for our BITSians’ Day 2024 Dhamaka in Kolkata at Regenta Orkos, a Royal Orchid Group property.

Well this is real. Here is this wonderful couple who were about to leave for Regenta Orkos at 7 AM in the morning thinking the celebrations were starting at that time instead of as scheduled for 7 PM. That’s Arun Kumar Roy Chowdhary and his lovely wife Rina Roy Chowdhary. Great having them amidst us. Their enthusiasm is an indicator that a whole day picnic in December is not such a bad idea and should be a great hit and real fun with people willing to start early.

That’s Arya Agarwal a 2017-22 BITSian enjoying the company of our senior most BITSian in Kolkata, Dr. Aditya Mukherjee (1961-66) and their gap 56 years and below she is with P. Mukherjee (1964-69) our second most senior BITSian with a gap of 53 years. Wow!
