When you are in Bergen, one attraction which will draw you towards itself is Mount Floyen. And to reach there you need to use Norway’s another famous attraction, the funicular railway. The trip starts from the city centre, just about 150 metres from the Fish Market and Bryggen.
The charm of this beautiful city lies in the fact that you can explore so much, right on foot. And once you reach Floyen you could also walk for miles together or trek discovering the green, the forest, the blue sky & the landscape. And can you imagine the excitement for us when we realized after our trip that Mount Floyen was visible from our hotel room, with its pretty buildings all lit up in the night. What a beautiful sight.
The tickets for the up & down trip is available at the Tourist Information Center & the ticket counters at Floibanen. But then I do not believe in wasting time standing in queues & so my tickets & yours too, already purchased in advance online, are right here with me. Come let’s move.
From there on top you can enjoy the views, study the city in detail, the seaward approaches & the fjords surrounding Bergen. You can sit for hours together soaking in the beauty of this wonderful city. At Floyen there is a restaurant, cafeteria, souvenir shop & a play area for children to go berserk. And of course there is so much more to enjoy and feel thrilled about, including the miniature red & blue carriage cars making their journeys and crossing each other on their trip up & down or the Kashmiri Goats relaxing & snoring away.
