As we got up today morning, the first thought that crossed my mind was “Wish we also had eggs for breakfast”. Sadly Cabinn City in Copenhagen has this very important item missing from it’s menu. Eggs, the love of millions. How can you not have it? Come on guys. Think about it.

The next thought that came to mind made me quickly go through the plans for the day to make the best out of today. And as I looked out of the window it made me spring out of bed, all excited, all over again. It was a sunny day. Blue sky, once again today.

And there I could see my favorites, the bicycles. Keep traveling, keep moving I told myself. Life is not to be lived in one place.
This Scandinavian trip of ours has been just awesome. Probably because behind every successful outcome, there needs to be some thoughtful planning. And planning, O yes I did spend many sleepless nights getting my plan just perfect. So that we could just enjoy, enjoy and enjoy. Without having to worry really about what to do next, when we were there, on our holiday. Our holiday of twenty days to experience Scandinavia.
But a blue sky every single day was not in our plan. That it has been, we are truly blessed. I start planning a good six months in advance. Is that an exaggeration? No, it’s the reality. Check it out in one of my earlier posts Scandinavia…a travelogue if you think it could help you to plan your trip in the near future, that part of the world.
And today when we are in our last leg, our last day rather, we still feel so energetic, so happy. Because we are going to be spending our concluding day in The Danish Beauty, Copenhagen. Amidst the beauty of nature.

Located on the Eastern edge of the island of Zealand with the island of Amager to the east, the Danish capital tops world livability lists, is one of the world’s greenest, cleanest and most sustainable urban centers. A place where cycling is serious transport, where buses and the metro run frequently and around the clock, and where the harbor is squeaky clean.
Copenhagen wisely keeps things compact and accessible, making it a super-easy place to explore. It has one of the world’s most dedicated bike cultures. In fact, the city has more bicycles than people.

So after a sumptuous breakfast, even without the eggs, we set out in search of happiness. And what better way to start than a canal ride. Copenhagen, the beautiful canal city. Let’s get going.

There are two options available. The non stop ride or the hop on hop off option. We chose the non stop option first and then decided to go in for the other one, where we could get down and explore in detail the locations that we liked the most. Time we start enjoying the day. And so here we go. Enjoy the ride and the views as we first move on the harbor canal and then over the smaller canals.

Have a look at what we experienced.
The beauty of the Copenhagen canal ride is such that you would wish you could go all over again. As we reach back to the boarding point, we are now ready to explore more of the city and some famous landmarks.

The Copenhagen Central station is perhaps one of the most happening places with a shopping arcade attached and the choice of eating joints, including the top food chains.

Keep a watch on the bicycles as we move ahead.

Nyhavn..the new harbor to explore the canals. Such a beauty, truly

And this place above, just opposite Copenhagen Central is the one of it’s kind amusement park. Tivoli Gardens. A perfect place for kids.
If you too plan to be in the city with your kids, here is a complete guide to Copenhagen with kids.

It’s a must visit place in the evenings while you are in Copenhagen, to experience A riot of colors… And the other must do activity is to go over The Marvel Creation and visit Malmo in Sweden, by bus from Copenhagen. It just takes an hour but is an experience of a lifetime. The Marvel Creation, Oresund Bridge linking Copenhagen, Denmark to Malmo, Sweden
And finally this Danish beauty within the Danish beauty, Copenhagen.

The Little Mermaid. The Danish Beauty
It had been two wonderful days in Copenhagen. But a thought crossed my mind. Wish we could have stayed another day. Did we miss out something? But when planning your trip do check out ‘Things to do in Copenhagen’ so that you don’t miss out on places we missed out.
With just few hours to go before we depart for our next destination our home, this holiday of ours has been the most special. Words perhaps are not enough to describe our experiences, our happiness. Sad it will be when we finally leave, but then our home too is so special. India Beautiful.
Watch out as we continue our journey with our “India Beautiful” series. Till then, take care and keep moving . After all, life is not meant to be lived in one place.
If you loved the Copenhagen experience, PIN it for planning your trip!

I have never heard of a city that doesn’t have eggs. That’s interesting. It is definitely important to plan for your trips. I’m not great at working through the small details that are so important. It’s a good thing my husband is good with the details.
