Follow it up with a day trip to the fascinating ruins of Pompeii and a hike to Mount Vesuvius. Moreover how can you miss the island of Capri, the den of the rich and famous. Come along for a journey to Capri, Italy with us today on a boat ride that will please your senses.

Traveling from Sorrento to Capri

You can avail one of the many ferries from Sorrento’s Marina Piccola port. To reach there climb down the stairs from Piazza Tasso and then it is a short walk from there. And in about 30 minutes and you would be in Capri.

However the real fun is in enjoying the turquoise blue waters of Tyrrhenian sea for three hours and sailing around the island before reaching there. If that sounds good, take a cruise on a semi-private boat with limited people on board and enjoy the awesome hospitality. And that would include a choice of complimentary water, beer, cola, fruit juice, wine and limoncello. Moreover if you love to swim, there is a stop midway for you to indulge in and feel refreshed. We booked our trip on Viator.com but also do check out GetYourGuide and then settle for the best deal on offer.

What spectacular views from your trip. I didn’t realise there were multiple grottos around Capri. I’m getting married in Tuscany later this year and we have been trying to decide where to visit after our wedding. Your description and pictures are convincing me I should head to Capri.
You must Nicole. It’s a beautiful region. Do set up your base in Sorrento if you wish to travel all around.
This looks so lovely, the blue waters and a boat ride. It looks like a perfect romantic destination. I really hope to do this ride one day, the rocks are such a marvellous formation with the natural arch.
Yes Ambica you most certainly must visit this part of Italy.
Capri is on my list! And looking at your photos I just might have to move it further up the list. Looks like you had a great time.
Yes we had great fun Renee. And you too will when you are there.
We have such great memories of Capri. But we were glad we stayed on the island a few days to enjoy the vibe when all the day tourists were gone. On our next visit we would love to take that smaller boat for a tour around the island. We were sad we missed the grottos on our visit.
Yes Linda something more to look forward to. The thought of our staying for a night in Capri didn’t occur. I can guess how wonderful the sights would be during the night.
I haven’t been to Capri yet, but I love Italy. Their architecture, culture, food, and climate. And nature too. I was delighted to read your Capri guide with lots of exciting information. I would like to see the cliffs and caves you write about, especially the Blue Grotto, Green Grotto, and White Grotto. Also, Faraglioni Rocks are fabulous. I would love to be so close to those rocks. Great trip!
Thanks Agnes. yes do try and make it there sometime.
We were in Sorrento to visit Pompeii! It was a short trip to Capri and to Amalfi. We should have stayed longer it seems!
Yes Carol the Amalfi coast is certainly worth a longer trip whenever possible.
The water is so beautiful. I like the sound of semi-private tour as you got to swim during the tour. And how enchanted it was to sail through the grotto/rocks.
It was great fun all through. And passing through the grottos was exciting.
Capri looks beautiful! Been wanting to travel to the Amalfi Coast in general with our campervan. Your post has convinced us we definitely need to do it ASAP. And that boat ride looks amazing, love how blue the waters are.
Capri is beautiful and you’ll love being there.
Very intriguing post on your journey from Sorrento to Capri. The Amalfi coast is beautiful with traditional bones nestled on the coast and the turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian sea are truly inviting. The view of the farglioni rocks and the grotto caves from the boat and sharing pleasantries with the fellow boat riders is such a memorable experience.
Yes Puloma apart from the journey, it was great fun making new friends with some cool people from all around.
Nice to know that 🙂👍
